Getting Involved
You've already started!
- The first step is to get informed. Do
your
research. Start by reviewing our
[Information]
section, and visiting other similar organizations displayed
in our [Orgs&Resources]
area.
- Attend a Minuteman meeting and fill
out the membership application included under the
[Join
Today] section. Upcoming events will be posted on this web
site and at the national MinutemanHQ.com website.
- Help spread the message about the negative effects
of illegal immigration. Local stories and examples
will help convey the message best. Remember, if we only
speak amongst ourselves and other like-minded close friends, we
won't inform anyone new. Always be courteous and
polite and adhere to the pledge and standard procedures of the
Minutemen.
- Contact your local, state, and federal
representatives and make your voice heard. Contact
information for your federal, state, and local Nebraska representatives can be
found under the [Government
Contacts] section. Free
faxing services can be found with partner organizations such as
NumbersUSA.com
- Donate your money and time to groups that
represent your views. Be careful to only support those
individuals or groups that have a clear position and/or voting
record on this issue. Broad political party donations can
be a risky investment since neither major political party has
earned that trust recently.
- Write letters to the Editor of your local newspapers.
- Call into local and national radio talk shows.
- Participate and volunteer for petition drives, recall
efforts, or other ballot initiatives.
- Report suspicion of illegal aliens or illegal
alien trafficking to the appropriate authorities in a way that
is consistent with the law. Do no profile people simply
based on race or ethnicity. Again, check under the
[Government Contacts] and affiliate
[Orgs&Resources] area for these organizations
- Attend local rallies and protests.
There's only so much you can do with your keyboard and
checkbook.
- Last but not least, VOTE!
